Abstract:

We conducted a study to see how drinking hydrogen-rich water (HRW) could impact adults' mood, anxiety, and nervous system function. Participants drank either HRW or regular water (placebo) for four weeks, then switched for another four weeks after a break.

Our study found that drinking hydrogen-rich water (HRW) for four weeks led to some positive changes in participants' mood and anxiety levels. They reported feeling less stressed and anxious after drinking HRW compared to regular water (PLW). Mood scores also improved significantly after HRW intake.

When we looked at how HRW affected the nervous system, we noticed something interesting. The part of the nervous system that controls our body's response to stress seemed to calm down in those who drank HRW. This suggests that HRW might have a soothing effect on our nerves, making us feel less stressed.

We also tested participants' thinking skills and found some encouraging results. After drinking HRW for four weeks, they were quicker and more accurate in tasks that require attention and flexibility.

Surprisingly, we didn't see big changes in blood markers related to inflammation or oxidative stress after drinking HRW. But this doesn't mean HRW isn't affecting these processes in subtle ways.

In conclusion, our study suggests that adding HRW to your daily routine could be a simple way to improve mood, ease anxiety, and support overall nervous system health, potentially leading to a better quality of life for adults.
